Phase 2b: Interim Eye Care

This is the area which has been the focus of LRBT’s efforts since its foundation, and in which it possesses unrivalled expertise. An interim eye hospital has been established in Mansehra, which commenced operations on November 10, 2005. It was housed in a rented building, modified to serve as a small, ten-bed hospital. By the end of 2005, a total of 5113 outpatients had been treated, and 294 major/minor eye surgeries performed. The hospital is expected to continue to treat around 120 outpatients per day, and to perform about 12 major surgeries per day.
